Everyone can use coasters, right? I've had coasters on my list of crochet ideas for months now and once I realized I had some leftover velvet yarn in my stash, I immediately knew that I would use it to make these. It's the perfect color for my home too since it matches my decor well 😉 This project is awesome if you're a beginner crocheter or you are just looking for a quick and painless project. I used velvet yarn, but I think any bulky weight yarn would be great. Two strands of cotton held together could be a good option too since cotton is absorbent and easily washed. Obviously you can use any yarn you like, however, the patterns may need to be adjusted slightly to get a large enough size if you choose to use a lighter weight yarn.
